European Diving Centre Fethiye is famous for giving non divers the opportunity to try diving in a safe fun environment.

Beginners Day is a holiday excursion and great fun day out for all the family - a real diving experience for complete beginners!

You will be given a short lesson to learn basic diving concepts, followed by 2 sea dives, in small groups with your instructor. This can count as the first day of a PADI Scuba Diver or Open Water Course.

This course is available with European Diving Centre Fethiye, so the choice is yours.

This is the ideal qualification for holiday divers or those who wish to learn to dive but don't have time to complete the PADI Open Water Course.

Comprising knowledge development sessions, 3 confined water training dives and 2 open water training dives this internationally recognized qualification is valid for life and allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters on future dive excursions and trips.

It can be upgraded to the PADI Open Water qualification at any time.

If you have recently completed a PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) credit towards the PADI Scuba Diver or Open Water course may be eligible.

PADI Open Water Course

This is the most popular PADI course and the one for those who want to learn to dive - it is fun and includes all practical and theory lesson elements of the PADI Scuba Diver course which consists of:

3 knowledge development sessions

3 confined water dives and 2 open water dive.

In addition the Open Water course comprises of 2 further knowledge development sessions, and additional 2 confined water training dives and 2 open water training dives, further developing your diving skills, knowledge and ability. Valid for life this internationally recognized qualification allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters on future dive excursions and trips.

If you have recently completed a PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) credit towards the PADI Scuba Diver or Open Water course may be eligible.

What is involved in learning to dive?
Diving is an exciting sport that opens up a world of totally unique experiences. There are a choice of courses and experience programs to suit your pocket and timescale. All PADI courses involve elements of knowledge development followed by practical training in shallow water and experience of deeper water, all under the close supervision of your PADI instructor.

Do I need to be really fit?
No, anyone who has a reasonable level of fitness can dive. You should be able to swim 200 metres unaided and perform moderate exercise. There is a medical statement which you will be required to complete prior to diving. Please ask for a copy.

Where is the best place to learn to dive?
Learning to dive on holiday, in warm clear water, in the sunshine is most peoples preferred option. It allows you to devote all your attention to the course and see some fantastic marine life. This all explains to you why Fethiye/Turkey is ideal.

How do I know I am getting a good quality course?
European Diving Centre Fethiye is associated and accredited highest dive centre level by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) an internationally recognised organisation that is renowned for diver training.

All instructors speak English and have been independently assessed by PADI.

Children and Diving
Diving is an activity that can be shared by all the family.Children can try diving from 8 years old by participating in a Bubble maker session. Children over 10 years can join Discover Scuba Diving programs or learn to dive. They can achieve either Junior Scuba Diver or Junior Open Water certifications which allow them to dive with their parents or guardian to limited depths and at 15 can upgrade their certification to full adult status.
